DEATH OF A DURGA, A SARASWATI.
It is festival time.Time for the famous Durga puja in West Bengal and Navarathri festivities going on in Chennai and throughout the world.
A young Durga (Goddess of power),a Saraswati(Goddess of learning ) died unnecessarily on early Monday morning. On Monday ,early morning, a 20 year old beautiful,intelligent college girl from Chennai died in an accident. A young life snuffed out unnecessarily.She was graduating from a famous college in Chennai.
A few friends going on a tour and she could have gone with them on the train.But no...fate would have it otherwise.She chose to go on a bike with a friend .Rash risky driving had it's toll and there was an accident with a bullock cart .The friend survived with a few broken bones.But our Durga died on the spot due to a Head injury.Both of them were wearing helmets ,it is claimed. A young life and possibly a great career were destroyed due to rash driving.That is a common and favourite habit with youngsters nowadays.

The death was quite unnecessary.Why did she avoid going with her friends and choose to go on a bike with a friend instead ?And in the night?
Rebellion due to an unhappy childhood and adulthood with parents? If the family had handled the situation properly with proper counselling and a bit of love,the girl may be still alive today.
Nobody really knows what happened on that fateful night.But as usual there are plenty of rumours floating around.
And bike racing at nights illegally and on the streets has become very frequent in Kolkata,Chennai, .,Delhi,Mumbai and other cities throughout the world.It is very dangerous not only due to the speed but also due to foolhardy stunts not performed by professionals.
And finally what happened to the bullocks and the bullock cart driver.No one is interested to ask.But I would like to know the fate of the driver and bullocks.
